SAFARIS IN UGANDA BOTH CAMPING AND LODGES

Uganda is a land of contrast.  Dappled with wildlife. Serene undulating hills of tea plantations, lush but ordered, give way to tangled jungle and rainforest with the musical accompaniment of chaotic, cacophonous birdlife. Uganda is alive with these contrasts: yet silent elephants, disappearing like a vapour behind the trees, the chimpanzees crashing about the forest canopy, the lugubrious gorilla, chewing thoughtfully in the bamboo thickets. This is my country. Let us show you the Uganda we know and love

BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK:

Bwindi impenetrable national park: is located in south western part of Uganda on the edge of the western lift valley covering 331sq kms, its one of the largest national forests in the East Africa, supporting a large number of plants and animals not found else where. About half of the world’s population of 600 mountain gorillas resides in Bwindi. The vegetation as the park name implies is composed of tropical rain forest with dense undergrowth. This rugged terrain makes hiking in search of gorilla strenuous work; visitors who trek should be prepared for up to 8 hours of hiking. Good physical condition is required. A maximum of only 6 permits per day are available for advance booking so confirmation 4-12 month in advance is required to avoid disappointment.

Along with the gorilla, there are nine other species of primates including blue monkeys, red tail monkey, chimpanzees and black and white colobus monkey. Three hundred forty six species of birds have been recorded in bwindi, seven species are listed as endangered species of particular interests include the white bellied Robin Chat, Red throated ale the, short tailed warble, yellow eyed black fly catcher. Blue headed sunbird. Over 200 species of butterflies have been recorded here.

Distance from Kampala:

580km estimated transit time: 8-10 hours.

KIBALE NATIONAL PARK:

With lush tropical rainforest and fascinating diversity of animals, kibale national park (KNP) is one of the most beautiful and stunning forests in Uganda. Kibale forest is certainly worth protecting as it is home to the largest number of our closest living relatives, the ENDANGERED Chimpanzees, as well as the THREATENED red colobus monkey and the rare I'Hoesti monkey (ref. CITES). The forest has one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling to 13 species including the black and white colobus, blue monkey and gray-cheeked mangabey, red tailed monkey, bush babies and pottos. The park also host over 325 species of birds including the yellow spotted nectar, yellow rumped tinker bird.
